Netball
is one of the winter sports offered at Sans Souci.
During
practices, which take place twice weekly, the learners are coached in their
skills, techniques and games play necessary to do well in the game. Matches
are played once a week, either at home or away. The learners are given the
opportunity to enter for Western Province trials. One Sans Soucian even
represented South Africa against Malawi in 1998.
PETERSBOROUGH TOURING SIDE : 25 AUGUST 2006
On Friday 25 August we were delighted
to have an U-16 netball and an U-16 hockey team visiting us at Sans Souci.
The weather was perfect for the occasion. We did not win, but everyone
enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Thank you, Sans Souci girls, for doing such a
great job with the setting out of the eats and the cleaning up afterwards.
MATCHES
AGAINST VOORTREKKER HIGH : 20 JULY 2006
Sans Souci played under 14A, under 16A
+ 16B and under 19A netball matches against Voortrekker High on Thursday.
The results do not reflect the dedication and enthusiasm that went into the
matches, so the fact that we lost all the matches should not minimise the
effort that went into them.
INTER-HOUSE NETBALL
: 24 AUGUST 2005
On Wednesday we
played the annual Inter-House Netball after it being postponed twice.
We just managed to finish as it started raining towards the end, but as
Donna Johnson says: "Netball is a winter sport!" The atmosphere was very
exciting and all the spectators cheered their Houses on.
The results of the
matches are as follows:
Ross vs
Grey Ross won 2-1
Kenyon vs Wade Wade won 12-3
Ross vs Wade Ross won 4-2
Wade vs Grey Wade won 6-2
Kenyon vs Grey Grey won 3-2
CONGRATULATIONS
to Ross house for winning the Inter-House Netball with Wade second, Grey
third and Kenyon fourth.
See you next year!
REPORT 20 mAY 2005
Yesterday we played
netball against Springfield. Unfortunately all the teams lost their
matches, but good netball was played.
REPORT 13
mAY 2005
This week we played
matches against Westerford and Rustenburg. Congratulations to the U14C
team for winning their match against Westerford.
All girls are
reminded that they must wear the correct match uniform, i.e. the Red
golf t-shirt and the culottes, plus proper footwear. If we have a home
match, it is the player’s responsibility to ensure that she has a cooldrink
for her opponent.
Please also remember
to bring your sports clothes to school irrespective of the weather. A match
will only be postponed, if necessary, later during that day.
