WELCOME TO SCIENCE!

Physical Science is important for learners hoping to follow a scientific career and essential for anyone considering taking Medicine, Engineering, Chemistry or any form of Science degree / diploma. The course gives any learner a basic understanding of physical principles and materials in the world around her.

In the Senior Certificate examination, learners are examined on the Grade 12 syllabus as well as slightly more than half of the Grade 11 syllabus, so there is a great deal of work to be learnt and revised for the final examination.

Physical Science is a mathematical subject and it requires the ability to reason logically and to solve numerical problems. Thus it demands a good grasp of the concepts and not just learning. For this reason learners may only choose this subject if they are also taking Mathematics. Learners may not necessarily be accepted into this subject, as only a limited number of places will be available.
